Frequently Asked Question
What is the difference between a heat sealer, bag sealer and impulse sealer?
They're exactly the same! Heat sealers, aka bag sealers, aka impulse sealers, use a heating element with a timed "impulse" to seal the plastic bags or tubing.
How do I assemble my heat sealer? How do I replace the element once it's burnt out?
This handy article breaks down the steps for you.
How do I know which heat setting to use?
This will depend on the thickness of the bag or tubing you are wanting to seal. As a general guide:
- 35µm: Setting 1
- 50µm-100µm: Setting 2-3
- 100µm+: Setting 3-4
It's a good idea to just test a couple of bags to see what setting will work best for you. Be sure to test them with whatever contents you are looking to seal inside the bags.
Which bags/tubing can I seal?
Our polythene bags and polypropylene bags are both great options when it comes to heat sealing bags. You can also use our layflat polythene tubing.
