Layflat tubing is one of the most versatile plastics in the warehouse — because you make the bag. Here is how it works.
What is layflat tubing?
Layflat tubing is a continuous tube of LDPE plastic, flattened onto a roll. Because it is an open-ended tube rather than a pre-made bag, you can cut it to any length you like and heat-seal the ends — effectively making a custom-sized bag on demand.
Sizes and thickness
QIS stocks layflat tubing in widths from 75mm to 1000mm and thicknesses from 30µm to 150µm, so you can match it to almost any product. Thicker film (higher micron) suits heavier or sharper items — see What is a µm?
What it is used for
It is perfect for packing long, awkward or odd-sized items that standard bags do not fit, and for businesses that want one flexible product instead of dozens of bag sizes.
